Only one baptism is required for the forgiveness of original sin. However the position of god parent is not necessarily one of life long obligation. In the catholic faith the position of god parent is to state that they will ensure that the child will be brought up as a good catholic should the parents become incapable of doing so. If the god parents no longer follow the catholic faith then they cannot fulfill their obligation. The declaration of a new god parent need not be made with a new baptism.

As a matter of fact it is a dogma in the catholic church that they “acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sin,” in their profession of faith at every mass.

My advise would be, don’t worry about it. Or if you have to worry, consult a lawyer about establishing a document as to who you authorize to raise your children.
