  • Assuming your marriage would have been legal in your home state, then yes, the Vegas marriage will be legal. Each state recognizes marriages from the other states under the Constitution's Full Faith & Credit provision. This is why you can get married in your home state, then move with your spouse to another state and live happily ever after without getting re-married in your new state or "registering" with your new state. Your marriage would NOT be "legal" and recognized if it violated the laws of your home state. For example, some states do not allow cousins to marry, but Nevada might. If they got married in Vegas, they would be legally married in Nevada, but the would not (and could not) be recognized as legally married in their home state.
