    Yes, if you want to drive in America you need an American license but if you are tourist then you need international driving license to drive here.

    Yes, you need an American driver's license to rent a car in the United States. Americans renting a car abroad need a driver's license issued in the country where they wish to rent a car, or an International Driver's Permit and a copy of their passport.
