  • A four-leaf clover represents Hope, Faith, Love and Luck. That is the general belief. In Irish tradition a three-leaf clover represents the Holy Trinity. One leaf each for the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. When a four-leaf clover is found the fourth leaf represents God's Grace. If you go back to Eve it is believed she carried a four-leaf clover from the Garden of Eden. All superstition with a general belief of good luck.
  • "When Adam and Eve were evicted from the Garden of Eden, Eve snatched a 4-leaf clover (which were plentiful in the Garden) as a remembrance of her days in Paradise. Also, the rarity of the plant (at one time) contributed to its value, although seeds which grow only 4-leaf clovers are now available. One old saying on the luck of the clover: "One leaf for fame,/One leaf for wealth,/And one leaf for a faithful lover,/And one leaf to bring glorious health,/Are all in a 4-leaf clover." --http://www.trivia-library.com/a/origins-of-good-luck-charms-four-leaf-clovers.htm
  • It is also because they are bery uncommon. You won't find a four leave clover in more than anout 1 in 10,000 of the usual three leaf variety. When something really really unusual happens its often considered a good omen. Nothe one is that its seena s very lucky is a bird poops on you - I mean how unusual would that be (unless you were standing udner a flock of seagulls)
  • Four leaf clover ARE very rere so simply you are considered luck if your do find one
  • Many people search and search and cannot find a four leaf clover. other people can just look down in a patch and discover a four leaf clover, without any problem. why? some people are luckier than others. its a known fact. only one four leaf clover can be found in 10,000. if you find one, you will find another very close by. clovers germinate very close to each other for this reason. the shamrock and the irish practically worship four leaf clovers. the origin starts there. the stigma attached to four leaf clovers and good luck may be psychological, but who am i to challenge centuries of good luck belief. it works for me!
  • I had never found a four leaf clover. Then, a couple of years ago I moved house. Whilst mowing the front lawn, I found a four-leaf clover, then another and another....so it seems that I have a four leaf clover plant growing there. I usually pick one or two before doing the lottery. Not that it's worked........yet!!!!
  • Well you're lucky already by having so many 4 leave clovers available to you. I would love to have one but I have never found one...Good luck with the lottery!
  • I think you're very lucky already by having so many 4 leave clovers. I would love to have one but I have never found one. Good luck with the lottery!!!
  • If your lucky enough to find one it must be lucky!
  • 1) You are lucky you found it, and 2) It is thought to resemble a cross
  • Because of it's rarity. Of course, with some radioactive waste, anything is possible...
  • The first leaf is for hope, the second is for faith, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck.
  • Irish legend. Because it is uncommon. There are supposed to be 10,000 three leaf ones to each four leaf. The luck is greater if found accidentally. Each leaf stands for something - the first, faith, then hope, then love, and the last one luck. And of course Wikipedia has a page on it -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_leaf_clover
  • Because they are relatively unusual. My daughter has a nack for finding them. They have been occuring for centries and are not related to mutations. If every leaf on the plant was 4 leafed, perhaps. People have found clover with 5,6 and more leaflets.
