Is there any particular trick to opening those ridiculous electronics packages, like for calculators and walkmen, or is it just scream,

cuss, mutilate the packaging and try not to throw the goddam thing across the room in frustration?

    lol. i use poultry scissors. make sure you buy a new one. dont use anything that will or has come in contact with food. thats just nasty and unhealthy. also dulls them a bit.

    There's actually an "as seen on TV" thingy which is essentially a pair of heavy duty scissors which cuts right through that plastic from hell.

    Use a sharp, stout pair of scissors, or a sharp Stanley knife (very carefully) and cut off one side and the top (or bottom) of the heat welded strip. With a side and an end open, you can often winkle out the contents. Beware the razor sharp cut edges and corners, though!
