cage fighting seems unduly violent and unrestrained, unlike boxing. Surely a shocking example to children yet adults seem to love it. Why?

    I love boxing and MMA ( UFC ) and I'm not sure which one I like better. All I can tell you is that boxing is more dangerous than UFC, so the basis for your question is incorrect.

    Kid's need to learn self-defense. Do you think kid fights have rules? The UFC has more rules, than real-life street fights which have "zero" rules.

    It is a sport, if you do not like it, do not watch it. Do not allow your children to watch it, so when they need to defend themselves or a sister from someone, they will not know how or be afraid because it is too violent. I know of dead boxers, but have yet to hear of an MMA fighters being killed in the ring!!!

    In a society that tells men they're not allowed to be aggressive, loud, obnoxious, or violent we suffocate the natural part of us that is designed as a hunting and killing predator. We have to get this aggression out somehow, and MMA is the closest thing so far to the Roman Colosseum.
