Remove the heads and rinse the shrimp several times. Bring water to a boil adding your favorite crab/shrimp boil seasonings. Add the shrimp. When water returns to a slow boil, boil for just a few minutes --- until all of the shrimp looks pink. Then quickly drain the shrimp and cool it with ice. Eat.

I would recommend cooking them with shell, it adds to the flavor. their taste is great and not sweet at all :)

For a pound of shrimp you will want to bring two quarts of water to a boil. You will then want to salt the water lightly. If you prefer you can add lemon juice to the water, this is optional though so do it however you prefer.

Once the water is at a boil you will want to shut off the heat that is under the water. You then add the shrimp to the water all at once. Once in the water you want to let them steep for about 3 to 5 minutes. Shrimp are better when you cook them gently.

You will want to check to see if the shrimp is done by cutting one in half. If the flesh is opaque throughout then the shrimp is done. When they are done you will want to get them out of the water immediately. If you cooked them with the shell on then you will want to now take the shell off.

They aren't really "sweet," but they do have a great flavor. You could serve them with tartar sauce or lemon wedges. Delicious!

full stock pot with 4 to 6 quarts (depends on how much shrimp). season with old bay, bring to a boild, rinse shrimp (leave shell on), put shrimp in and boil for 2 minutes. the shrimp turn pink, and your done, have a large bowl filled with ice cubes and water dump the shrimp in to stop the cooking process and cool them before handling. once cool peel the shells off and devain.
if you leave the shrimp in the boiling water longer... you will have shoe leather, and they are ruined. I have been doing this for 30 years, and since i live on an island I i buy fresh shrimp as much as possible.
