Cool thread. My town (Port Washington, NY - USA) is probably best recognized for being featured as one of the two "eggs" (East Egg and West Egg) in F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby". Ah, to live on the Gold Coast during the Roaring '20s!

Town of Bourbon as it was named by the railroad workers who put the rail way through it in the 1800's. There was at the time a village in the area called St.Cloud Mo. that had a tavern near the west end of it, that sold Bourbon to the rail workers. And they named the town after the whiskey. State is Missouri & called Gateway to the west. Sometimes called The Show Me State. Country Land that dwellest upon many waters-Jeremiah Chapter 51 v-13.
