Can I use a car subwoofer for a DIY home subwoofer if the Sub amp I'm using can do the same ohms as the car subwoofer?

Yes you can- From a technical perspective, there really is no harm or issue with doing that, however, from a quality and enjoyment issue, you probably will not get everything that you expect from it. Home audio componets are designed for rooms with 4 walls while car audio componets were designed to be used in automobiles. Its worth a try if you have the woofer and you would rather use what you already have rather than to buy something new. You very well may be satisfied with the results. Its definately something that you can do without harming the system or the components.
