Help answer this question below.
Brainstorm a list of leadership or volunteer experiences and list what each experience has taught or changed you. On a separate sheet of paper, brainstorm a list of obstacles or challenges you have encountered in life and how you overcame them. Think about what those lessons have taught you about being a leader.
Write down the ways in which you hope to use your experiences and accomplishments to serve you in the future. Get the help of trusted friends or family to jog your memory if needed.
Look over your brainstorm lists and choose one or two experiences that you feel the most passionate about writing. Close your eyes to recall the scenes as vividly as possible from those experiences.
Create an outline that includes an introduction, body and conclusion. Then start to organize your ideas and memories in sentences under each section. Ensure that your introduction is one that can capture and sustain the reader's attention. Use your outline and brainstorming sheets to write your rough draft.
Ask several peers, family members, friends or instructors to offer feedback on your rough draft. Take notes on the ideas that you found most helpful, as you work on revising your essay.
