    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

There are no definitive records on when Saint Andrew was born, died or granted sainthood. It was not until the 10th century that a standard for sainthood was set by the Roman Catholic Church. As Andrew lived before this process was set, his sainthood was determined by popular acclamation. He is, by tradition, called a saint as are the other apostles.

Like all other saints since Christ started His ministry, Andrew became one the moment he left all to follow Him.

He joined the saints in Glory the way they all do: by dying.

The Church (or really the Churches: Greek, Latin, Syriac/Oriental, Coptic, Armenian, Ethiopic, and Mar-Tom) acknowledge and honored Andrew as a saint for as far back as we have records, which is to say, back into the 2nd & 3rd centuries.
