  • If the cough has persisted for over a month have this child screened for asthma it has a quick onset and sounds like a smokers cough and doesn't always carry an external weizzing sound. Put you head next to her chest front and back and listen to her breath if you hear sounds its probably alot more than a cold. My daughter had no problems with asthma and at age 6 developed a horrible cough that wouldn't quit after nine monthes of coughing and alot of missed days at school she was finally placed on a long lasting inhauled steroid that did the trick and cough be gone. Don't waste time get her checked out soon.
