    Great Answer

    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

    On One Hand: File Electronically

The state of Colorado recommends filing state taxes electronically in order to receive the refund more quickly. If you file online, you will typically receive a refund within seven to 14 business days because it is processed electronically.

On the Other: File on Paper

Taxpayers who file their Colorado income tax returns on paper can expect a refund within 21 to 75 days. The time depends on when the tax return was filed, as those filing early in the year receive refunds more quickly than those who file in April.

    Bottom Line

State tax refunds in Colorado are received within anywhere from a week to three months, depending on when and how the tax return is filed. Contact the Colorado Department of Revenue if you do not receive your refund within 120 days.
