Why does my WinVista computer keep resetting up(Preparing Your Desktop) accounts(when on next boot) it's fine?(ctd blw)

When onto the account, it displays an error in the taskbar area, saying that this user's profile wasn't loaded correctly? What does it mean? How can I prevent it from happening once-and-a-while? It makes my computer load similar to how it loaded when first purchased? The next time it boots, it's fine again.. But every so often, it does this. It's annoying the living daylights out of me.

I have just got this today in Windows 7 and I believe it is because I had a trojan and a virus (both removed) and then ran a repair tool and defragment. It is related to corruption somewhere in the user profile - I guess this could be caused by a number of things. see this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/windows-7-preparing-your/1c7f77b5-4bbd-4426-9b87-e705690ddc4f and this

For windows 7 users there is even a youtube suggested fix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RDQI8QGGN0 which I am off now to investigate
