The GRE examination requires three hours to complete when taken in computer form. When the test is administered on paper, it requires 3.75 hours.
Approximately 600,000 students take the GRE exam annually, reports Education Testing Service. Around 3,200 schools required or accepted GRE scores as of March 2010.
