    "Our [Indiana's] unmarked cars need license plates," said State Police Major Carlos Pettiford of Indianapolis. Detectives, therefore, must have license plates on their vehicles. "On the marked patrol vehicles, we have a state-police license plate issued by the state," Pettiford added.
