Wanting to find out how long does a criminal charge stay on your record? I had a misdemeanor charge from ten years ago can they use that now against me on a different charge?

    Your criminal record may not at first have a bearing on your current charge, but eventually your past will come to light.

    A jury will not know of your past arrest, but everyone else is allowed this information.

    Criminal charges stay on your record forever unless expunged. It's your "record" and doesn't change.

    Forever but may be able to have it expunged. Check your state laws. It's a fairly easy procedure that you may be able to do yourself

    does anyone know how i can find out if my charge is a misdemeanor or felony? It has been almsot 16 years and still on record I thought it was expunged but it wasn't.

    I think the max is seven years but if you were under 18 when you got charged it goes away when you turn 18 or at least in arizona
