  • Probably at about -40celsius - -50 celsius should do it. Antifreeze contains ethanol, which has a lower freezing point than water. You can freeze almost anything given a cold enough temperature. Our atmosphere would turn into a frozen solid blanket upon the earth if temperatures dropped to around -120 celsius.
  • Pure anti-freeze will freeze at about -5° F. Water is the catalyst that makes the anti-freeze work. Most commercial antifreeze formulations include corrosion inhibiting compounds, and a colored dye (commonly a green, red or blue fluorescent) to aid in identification. A mixture of 50% anti-freeze and 50% water is usually used, resulting in a freezing point of approximately −40 °F. Concentrations of above 70% anti-freeze and 30% water will lower the freezing point to -67° F.
