  • Yes, we have a youth service run by our Youth Pastor for ages 14-18 (I think the ages are right). We also have a childrens service run by our Children's Pastor for ages 8-13. Then we have a 4-7 year old service run by the Children's Pastor's wife. The youth services are held on Wednesday nights and are completely run by the Youth Pastor and the youth themselves. They have a worship band, they give sermons, perform dramas, have discussions and things like that. The children's church is also done the same way but on Sundays. They have puppet shows, dramas and music(worship service) all done by the children. The younger one's don't usually participate in the service(also held on Sundays) because of their age. My church is in New Iberia, Louisiana and it is an Assemblies of God church.
  • Yes we have a youth service every Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. it is very good our youth do the praise and worship, Our youth pastor does the preaching which is geared to the youth of our church. We are a non denominal church, as well as an apostolic oneness church. Lighthouse of Jesus Christ Muncie, Indiana
  • Yes, we have our youth (grades 6 through 12) in our Community Life Center. There are two Contemporary Church services on Sunday morning, with Sunday School for them too. On Sunday evenings the middle schoolers have something they do and the high schoolers have their own program. Plus on Wednesday evenings there are specific programs for each group. I'm not sure of the names because my daughter is in the fifth grade and so don't have much to do with that part, yet!! For those in elementary school, they have Kids Worship and Sunday School, but there's no Sunday evening program for them. For those even younger, they have nursery. We do have a program for those of 18 to 25 years of age, but again, I no nothing about this program. In His grasp, <:))))<>< "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Romans 12:21
  • No, we don't have "youth mass" perse, but we do have a 9:30 am mass where the children are taken out during the liturgy of the word to do a child's version and brought back before communion. I went to my friend's church a couple of weeks ago and they had a full-blown Children's Mass at 9am. The children did the readings, and all the songs were sung by kids with banjos. They even sung the Lord's Prayer...I felt like I was on Raffi or something. It was interesting, but I didn't enjoy it the way I do a traditional mass. And I'm from Ontario Canada.
  • Children at my congregation are smart and sit alongside the adults. There is nothing that needs to be simplified for a younger mind.
  • We have a Youth Mass at our church. It is monthy and a good attendence, each collection is given to a different charity. To this date the youth mass has raised over $12,000 for many charites, too many to list. The mass is for the young and young at heart. There is praise music for 30 minutes before the service, and words are displayed on the back wall. The projector also displays the readings, and during the consecration only the altar is has a light on it and on the wall behind it the words simply say, "this is Jesus" and following the service, there is free food in the parish hall. The mass is not irreverent. The music is more lively, but does not take the focus off the mass. "The mission of the Youth Mass is to include youth and their families in a celebration of the Eucharist, which reflects the energy and zeal of young adulthood, while emphasizing the sanctity and miracle of the Mass." I feel that some are very closed minded about the mass and fail to recognize how many changes the catholic church has endured. There was no organ when Jesus walked on the earth, and He was one of us as He celebrated life with us. These young people need something positive in their life. and if its lively music and free food that bring them closer to Jesus then so be it.
