In his campaign he was the great messiah who could change the level of the oceans. Now he cannot even stop the snow in Washington DC. It's even delaying his creation of a whole new federal global-warming bureaucracy. Go figure.
Given he has been proven a mere mortal, and not even the great orator he was supposed to be when separated from his teleprompter, he has no choice but to return to his community-agitator roots and blame everything on anyone and everyone but himself, and in the case of his loyal constituencies to blame everything on anyone and everyone but themselves.
Are you implying that Obama is blaming Bush for anything? Funny, if anything, I could have sworn that he was excusing, covering up and absolving the guy while continuing the same policies
I doubt Obama will take responsibility. He is a little kid with a Credit Card...
People tend to forget one very important thing :: Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan & everyone before them were Men who filled the Office of Presidency.
It's time we vote a lady in the office, I believe a woman will get more things done & the "right" way!
Just as soon as Hell freezes over.
Name a Liberal - ANY Liberal - who actually took responsbility for his mistakes.
waiting....
waiting...
Yeah, I thought so.
Your fantasy that Obama is responsible for the mess we're in will never be reaized. It will go the way of all fantasies...into the oblivion caused by realism.
You could call them facts.
If you don't like the guy because of the color of his skin, be honest.
If it's his superior education, just say so?
If it's because he is doing his deal level best to repair the damage done by the incompetent Republican embarrassments, why not own up?
You can be honest in here; we really don't know who you are so honesty is no danger.
Maybe you want to list Obama's mistakes you speak about?
Didn't think so!
Gas ain't cheap but vacuous talk surely is.
So, what else don't you know anything about?
It is an established fact that the Bush administration had multiple actions that we are currently still feeling the effects of.
as far as taking blame for errors in his administration, although I am sure it was not aired on some of the more "conservative" news outlets, he has taken blame for underestimating the unemployment numbers, in addition to taking blame for things that he had not started but was able to fix, such as the "call out" by McCain on the purchase of the 26 presidential helicopters, and although he didn't order them, he did step up and take the blame and cancel the orders (Bush ordered the helicopters in 2003)
seems that people take exceptional issue with things that are really not that important, such as the fallout from the statement made by his staff or any other gaff made by a member of his cabinet.
same man different shell
Gee, Liddy spends 4 years in prison in exchange for shielding others from prosecution, then gets book deals and radio shows through his network of Right Wing "true believers"
Baker was sentenced to 45 years in prison, got that reduced to 8, only served 5 years in Club Fed, dodged a class action lawsuit brought by those he defrauded, and is now back on TV.
Swaggert only 'came clean' because another preacher who 'sinned' (also frequented hookers) whom Swaggert outed retaliated against him, his initial punishment was a three-month 'suspension'. At no time did he face criminal prosecution for his bouts with hookers (1988 and 1991). And he's still pushing his version of God on TV, on radio, and in books.
In contrast, Senator John Edwards cheats on his wife...and he basically has had to retire from public life.
Seems to me that the Republican/Right-Wing version of 'taking responsibility' is a little different than that employed by others....;-D.
At the exact moment the GOP stops being obstructionist on everything and is willing to compromise on some things instead of demonizing the prez at every opportunity. I know. Never gonna happen. Too much fun taking shots at the prez instead of trying to find common ground and actually make progress. :(
When he finally manages to undo Bu$h's countless mistakes, despite the republicans best efforts to scuttle such.
I remember Obama taking responsibility for the Pants Bomber being able to get away with what he did.
Since when did ANY Conservative give him credit for that?
Mighty Convenient Memories you Cons got!!!
I suspect that he really believes he is doing the right things and that if bad things happen, it is not because of his decisions, but because of influences beyond his control. If things get significantly better, he will believe it is because he is doing right - if they get worse it will not be because he did anything wrong.
If the economy had dramatically improved starting in October of 2008 - when the outcome of the election began to look pretty certain - I am sure he would take credit for that, believing that the hope and change he promised caused the improvement. He will never believe that the downturn that worsened in October of 2008 worsened because of what people expected of his policies.
I fully expect him to take responsibility for the state of things when they improve significantly. He will be quite convinced that his ideas and administration brought about the improvement.

You're reading At what point will Obama realize it's no longer "Bush's fault" and take responsibility for his own mistakes?
