I would be heading back to the vet that performed the spaying operation. A large hard lump is not normal in this situation.

Usually a hernia is soft. Scar tissue becomes hard. In any event, I would certainly take her back to the veterinarian to have it looked at. There should have been a follow up visit.

My kitten has this same lump after being spayed five days ago. I read that this can be caused when the cat's body is starting to rid itself of the dissolvable sutures.
