I have a problem with a 1989 f159 no power to fuel pump. i btpased it and hooked it dric and it worked but it still will not start?

    If your truck is like mine, then you will have 2 fuel pumps. One inside the tank the other on the fram rail.
    Additionally, I have dual tanks so if one of the internal tank pumps fail then try the other tank. I think I should have done that myself as I have a similar problem as you except I'm sure external pump is running but could be one of the pumps in the fuel tanks. I only used the front tank but I should have put some fuel in the rear tank and tried that before having my truck towed to a shop. I just couldnt get my truck to start at all. Once they tell me whats wrong with my truck and fix it I will foreward the results of the repair if that will help.
