There are a few common reasons why you may see the message stating that your SIM card is invalid. Some issues may be easy to fix on your own, but others will require calling your service provider.
SIM Card Issued by Another Provider
SIM cards are all designed to work with a specific cell phone provider. If you have service with a provider, you will have to use a SIM card with its logo displayed.
Outdated Sim Card
From time to time, technology changes and may result in an outdated card. If you have had your SIM card for a couple years, you may need to request a new card from your service provider.
Deactivated SIM Card
For various reasons, your SIM card may have been deactivated. Call your provider to check on your account.
Phone or Card Reported Stolen
If your card or phone was reported stolen, you may receive this message. Your service provider will often do this to avoid fraudulent use. In this case, you will probably have to request a new card.
Damaged SIM Card
If the SIM card is chipped or scratched, the phone may not be able to connect with the card. If damaged, contact your service provider for a new card.
