Its not easy being cheesy, but as evidenced by Dr. Suessus Green Eggs and Ham, it seems to be far simpler to get out and be green.

No. It isn't hard to do. Reducing your carbon footprint takes some attention and diligence, but many things can be done to start and help out. Some things are cheap or free if you don't count your labor. Some things might add some cost to your lifestyle. And some might cut into your lifestyle. But is isn't hard if you have the right mindset.

    Actually, it's not hard.

When you car dies, buy a hybrid. Or if it's too expensive, drive less or walk/bike sometimes.

There's recycled paper for the printer, recycling waste at home, buying more environmentally friendly detergents (at Whole Foods), etc. Also, maybe trying yoga, or becoming vegan, & voting for more progressive politicians. Let's see -- what else, when regular light bulbs die, replace with florescent bulbs, etc.

It's not all or none. Just do what you can, when it feels right. Don't stress out over it. A little over time can make a big difference.

It's a somewhat new concept and not everything in our lives has fully adapted to it yet. And because things are not fully developed, some of it is merely experimental, so positive results are not always guaranteed. Like any new thing, it takes time to get used to.

Go know thyself is THE RED QUEEN

Because Kermit was actually born a hermit crab only trapped in a frog's body and is tormented by it to the point of breaking out in song at any given moment.

    Oh you mean the environment?

    Oh... sorry.

"Being Green", in the construction industry is usually expensive. A building we just completed had $20,000,000 added to the budget to "go green" (become LEED certified).

Before we all turned green I was head of my local KKK,and I hated everybody who wasn't the same colour as myself. When I turned dark green I lost my will to live and became ill and depressed because I could not find anyone to hate anymore. Then my second in command suddenly noticed that some people in town were different shades of green, and he suggested that we dark greens should all start persecuting the lighter greens. Now I have regained my old self esteem and have learned to hate again.I have sent my old costume to be dry cleaned and it will be ready Friday. This Saturday we are all meeting up at the old barn and then off into town to sort those light greens out.Isn't life wonderful folks.

This is sarcastic dig at the KKK so please don't take this seriously.

Because all the messages we receive about how to go about it are greenwashed advertisements that have more to do with conspicuous consumption than they do about saving the planet.

    Ex: "Buy a hybid!"
Reality: Don't buy a hybrid, your car works fine and you can get a used geo metro that gets 50+ MPG. Buy a new car, add several thousand pounds of steel into a landfill.

Because we are kind of addicted to the modern world. We love gas and electrical operated equipment and gadgets. Do we want to go back to the old times, without electricity, cars and all the gizmos that we have around? I don't think so. That's why it isn't easy to be green.
We should contribute and do our part, but being completely green is not easy.

Because so many of us are either too lazy or too busy to fit it into our lives like taking green bags or calico bags to the store instead of using the plastic ones at the store, i only ever rememer when I am at the supermarket and by then it is too late. I do try but I fail more than succeed at being green.

    Actually it is.
But on the Grand scale we're just getting into it,
So. it's a bit of effort at first to move all that energy into flowing in a certain direction.
However, once in place and the river is flowing, the innertia will leep it going in a sustainable way.
