Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a shirt that says "Best dam time in town" on the front and "Eager Beaver Lounge" on the back. I'm not allowed to wear it because my mom says "beaver" is a slang word for a female body part. Is this true?

  • It's true. For a bit of explanation as to why this is, see here:

NOTE: I did not post the info from the link as it might not be appropriate for all AB users.

It is and used regularly, with the older crowd like me and your Mom. The saying that she objects to is suggesting that you are horny, and that is why she would object to it.

I have a feeling that though untrue, the slogan may be apt on you. I have never heard a female body part called a Lounge although I have relaxed in a few.

Obviously the shirt's message is slightly hidden. Damn being hidden as dam, eager beaver to me would suggest to me that the woman would be looking for a sexual encounter. If you are a young person, this shirt may attract unwanted or even negative attention. Maybe you could agree to give it up if she buys you something else. Sounds like a good trade off to me!

Yes, it is the name for a female body part but in the cse of the shirt it is not in reference to that body part;otherwise it would not list the fact of a dam on site.

Yes it is true & as a couple other posters have pointed out the shirt sends out a specific message about the wearer (even if you don't intend it to). It wouldn't necessarily be the most appropriate thing for a teen to be wearing.

It's true, but your shirt doesn't use the word "Beaver" in that context. Your school will probably not allow it because it says "Dam".

Yes. The shirt is tacky and implies you are easy. I would not let my daughter wear it either.

A beaver is an animal noted for its dams. It only later became slang for female genitalia.

Well yeah, a beaver is slang for vagina. However, I really don't think your shirt is referencing that. If it is, it's a muddled and poorly crafted joke.
