  • Fine red bumps on your skin could be one of many different things and can be caused by allergies, irritants or infection.

    Infants

Babies can get a host of conditions that older children and adults won't get. It could be common diaper rash (a fungus), baby eczema or fifth disease.

    Allergic Reaction

A rash or hives can be caused by an allergic reaction. Laundry detergent, grasses, food or any number of environmental substances can set off an allergic reaction rash.

    Chronic Skin Conditions

You might have a chronic skin condition such as psoriasis, eczema or rosacea. If the rash lasts more than a day or is severe, see a doctor to have is diagnosed and treated.

    Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac

If you have been camping or hiking you may have come upon a skin irritant from a plant. Get some ointment and don't scratch it (if you can help it).

    Fungal Infection

If you have pets, you could have ringworm (a fungus, not a worm), or it could be a different fungal infection. Over-the-counter or prescription antifungal creams will take care of things soon, especially if caught early.
