I am incredibly pale and have bright blue eyes, and dark brown hair (a very noticeable contrast). I only wear lip gloss and clear mascara, but for more formal occasions, what colors of makeup should I use (eyeshadows, bronzers, etc.)?

check out almay, they have a line of eye make up that is designed for each eye color. i have green eyes and i use it and it really makes them stand out.

You can have your skin and eyes color-typed at the Clinique counter in nicer department stores -- they're a great line for fair skin and for formal events you want to just look a little more of a dressed-up-"you" -- they have a sheer quality. Since you're a brunette, you'll age into the grays (whereas natural blondes age into yellows - the whites of the eyes, the teeth, the skin undertones) -- so regardless of your age, you'll be pointed toward pinker and peachier tones to compliment your skin. If your lashes are dark, you can go with dark brown or soft black mascara; a taupe or soft brown smudgy eye pencil used sparingly; maybe a light-touch with the bare minerals-type of foundation, and no bronzer (too tough to get right.) Then use a lip pencil in a color that matches your gums after you rub them (that's your most natural and flattering lip color), and add your gloss over the pencil you've used as a lipstick. Any cosmetics counter will give you a lesson and you really don't have to buy from them, but you might want to, so choose a line that is most like your age and style - probably Clinique.

You'll find that neutrals will actually make you look better than actual colors like blue or green. For your eyes, you want to put tan, light brown or pinky brown all over. A darker brown in the crease and an even darker brown along the lash line. Use a brownish/pinkish blush sparingly. Wear natural color lipstick. At any time, only play up one section of your face, either your eyes or your lips, not both.

If you're pale as a paper, wear pink blush, not so much bronzers (be glad u have porcelaine skin tone) and black eyeliner. Looks awesome!

For your eyes, blue and brown eyeshadows will bring out your eyes. For your face, since you are pale, a little bronzer around the apple of the cheeks, or a light pink color. (Don't over do the bronzer) I love mascara. The best mascara i have ever used is by Covergirl called Lash Blast.
