<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: They Save a Lot of Work
Coating your glass shower doors with a sealant can save a lot of time and effort in the long run. This is especially true if you're the type of person who doesn't want to use a squeegee to push the water off the door after your shower, and you don't want to have to clean the glass every week or so.
On the Other: They Can Be Somewhat Costly
No matter which type of coating you get, it will add at least $100 to the cost of your shower, and likely more. Additionally, some coatings have to be put on the glass before it's finished, which means they have to be purchased with the coating and it can't be added at a later date.
Bottom Line
Coatings for glass shower doors can be pricey, but getting glass without them can mean hours of extra work spent keeping the doors clean. So the question is whether or not you're willing to pay a couple hundred dollars now for the privilege of not having to clean your shower as often in the future.
