With celebrity endorsements, late night commercials, dozens of products and testimonials from real customers touting their success, ab toner belts have built quite a brand name for themselves and their supposed success. The marketing blitz for these products is strong and persistent and encourages people to believe that putting on a belt and doing normal activities will lead to perfect abdominal muscles.

    On the Other: False advertising

The U.S. government had to intervene and charge three different companies with fraud after making false claims over the success of the ab belts. Also thousands of reviews can be found from people who purchased the product and did not reach their desired level of fitness. Many say the belts do not work at all.

    Bottom Line

The ab toner belts do not work. They are part of the myth that spot training one area of the body will create "six-pack abs." Instead, to achieve such a look, a person must eat a balanced diet, do aerobic exercises several times a week and cut down on the amount of stored fat in the body. The ab toner belts have proven that they do not do anything in achieving that six-pack look.
