<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Everyday Cleaning
Pergo recommends that you sweep its flooring with a broom or use the hard flooring attachment of a vacuum cleaner to clean up loose dirt. To clean up spills or messes that you cannot sweep up, damp mop with a little water. Never use a soaking wet mop or wet jet-type cleaners.
On the Other: Tough Clean-Up Jobs
Never use harsh cleaning liquids or any cleaners that contain wax, soap or detergent. For more stubborn messes, you may use a gallon of water mixed with one cup of vinegar or one-half cup of ammonia to clean Pergo flooring. Pergo also recommends their Laminate and Hard Surface Cleaner that will remove stains and even cigarette burns from the floor.
Bottom Line
Follow Pergo's recommendations for cleaning all types of messes on your Pergo flooring. By doing so, you will avoid dulling your floor or leaving a film on it. Also, failure to follow Pergo's care and maintenance instructions, including cleaning procedures, may void your warranty for the floor.
