The difference between cable and DirecTV can be extensive; however, they both have many features in common as well. DirecTV is beamed into your home via satellite service. As opposed to cable service, DirecTV can require you to adjust your satellite dish based on satellite orbital changes from time to time for optimal viewing, and the process may require customer service support through DirecTV itself.
