  • no chemical will come up as cocaine. Those tests are pretty accurate. From my experience, people on drugs lie when they have taken something! I've had drug users in my family, I would take the results of a blood test before I believed them. Sorry, don't take it personally, But it's just a fact of life with a drug user. I have seen it at work and in my family.
  • If she's already IN a drug program, then it's not so surprising that she would test positive for drugs. Of course she's going to swear she hasn't used any drugs, but the truth of the matter is that those tests are pretty darn accurate. As far as I know, there is no conclusive evidence of any substances that will produce a false positive for cocaine, though there is some speculation that antibiotics (amoxicillin especially) may produce false positive test results for cocaine.
  • It has been my personal experience that people on drugs lie about their drug use even in the face of clear evidence to the contrary. I'm afraid that your daughter is likely lying to you about being clean. It happens, often, and it may take her two or three treatments before she can stay clean. You won't be doing her any favors by giving her trust she has not earned. It will only encourage her to continue lying. I hope that she can stay clean and that you can begin to trust her again. Good luck and God Bless.
  • yes cocaine thats why shes on the program users lie.
  • Be sure that she hasn't been to the dentist lately as well as had anything to numb her for stitches or something.Anything with Caine on the end will test positive for cocaine even ear drops.
  • No,there is no natural cause for cocaine to be present in the system, like most of the others have said, lies cover the users use, don't take it personally,it's just a defense mechanism by the user to try to cover the shame of being discovered.(ex drug addict)
  • There has been no mention of a false positive test result in the answers above. You also do not state what test was used? What was the testing protocol etc. People who did not use can test positive. The likelihood is small but it is possible.
