<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Preparation H Is Not Made for Eyes
The drug company Wyeth, which tested and produced Preparation H, does not recommend that their product be used on puffy eyes. Spokespeople for the company have said that the product was tested on other sensitive areas and not should not be used on the face.
On the Other: Preparation H Reduces Swelling
Preparation H contains compounds that reduce swelling in the blood vessels, especially those in sensitive areas. The same property that allows the cream to work on hemorrhoids can, in theory, work on other swollen areas.
Bottom Line
Preparation H may work on puffy eyes, but there is always danger in using drugs in a way not originally intended. There have been no definitive studies using preparation H on eyes and drug company Wyeth never tested the the product in any place other than its listed areas.
