    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

A unit is a standard measurement for insulin, expressed by the letter U, followed by the number of units present. In the U.S., insulin is commonly available in a ratio of 100 units per one milliliter of solution (U-100). Therefore, a single unit is 0.01 milliliter.
