What can you do if an aged relative won't go to hospital when he or she is sick or injured?

    It depends on the seriousness of the situation. if its life-threatening, the police have authority to make this decision. if its a suicide situation, the police have the authority to make this decision. only the authorities have this option.

    Take them yourself or, if the elderly relative is not of sound mind to make decisions for him/herself, the children or closest relatives can seek power of attorney over the elderly person so that they can be authorized to make decisions for him/her.

    If they are sick I would call in the doctor , If they were injured I would just have to get them to go to the hospital. Call an Ambulance if they would not let me take them.
