Easily give it up. A final answer? Of course.

Hypothetically speaking, if there was some type of solid undeniable proof presented in front of you proving that religion is a complete sense, would you accept religion, or just ignore it, block it out, and keep not believing in it anyways?

I am an atheist already, but was i to belong to a particular religious sect and were presented with absolute truth that my beliefs were blasphemy, i would give it up. Die hard religious people would, however, discount the evidence. Remember the inquisition? They blocked out scientific research for over 500 years so that many of their beliefs would not be proven wrong. Remember Galileo? He was very careful with his research into astronomy, he only revealed his findings once he was completely sure and was situated with some top officials that could vouch for him. Thus, we no longer believe the earth is stagnant and revolved around by other objects. As you can see, beliefs are beliefs and only the people can form their own opinions from evidence if they truely want to. Tell the pope his religion is crap and show him evidence, what would he do? Lie and ignore the evidence, because accepting that truth would be letting go of everything he's ever known. Don't forget that people once believed (and perhaps still do) that there were gods for everything, the sun, the sea, war, etc.

Hypothetically answering, when the entire scientist elite crawls up to the top of the mount of all knowledge, there at the top, they will find a bunch of theologians sitting around the fire with Bible in their hands saying “we told you so!”

As far as I know, you really can't hypothetically do anything to persuade ignorance. Its amazing that the quest for truth and knowledge has survived the constant beat down from the center of the universe flat worlders. Like those goats that pass out when startled, the hardcore, egotistical, burn the different at the stake Believers, shut down when the fear of truth might suggest that everything they have ever been TAUGHT is a ridiculous lie.

What I want to know is if they'd feel like a fool.

Since I read your question, I could not get it out of my mind. What would I (a Christian) really do, and what type of “proof” would I require in order to deny my Faith in God. I came to conclusion that a greater proof that I already received is not possible, nor does my heart seeks it because I am convinced that God is truth, and the Truth, like God, can not be created or changed, it only exists. But I feel your emptiness or the vanity of the question you propose, so what would you do if this “proof” was before you, dance from joy? If God stood before you telling you that He does not exists, that the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ was a fake, that He did not form the first human and breezed the breath of life into his nostrils, would that do it? If He did that, hypothetically speaking, would that REALLY do it for you? If so, “poof” you would not exists to her you self answer.

1. Even Hypothetically you cannot prove a negative. 2. The lynch pin of Religion is faith. 3. Faith is believing that which cannot be proven. Were your hypothetic situation come to fruition, I doubt it would have any effect at all.
