You will have to get the door open somehow... does it open from the inside? If not, you will have to use a jimmy to pull on the mechanism inside the door that releases the latch. If the key isnt working, the key tumbler may be defective/broken.. usually no way to fix and easier to just get a new one. If the key is locking and unlocking the door, you will have to remove the door panel, and there will be a metal bar about 1/8-3/16" think going from the door handle(inside) toward the back of the door where you put the key it. Follow this bar and see if it is just hanging down and not attached to anything. It is supposed to be attached to the latch mechanism. If it's just haning there, there will be a hole where it is supposed to go. Same thing from the outside door handle. If both are hooked up, take the latch off and see if anything is visibly wrong... that might need to be replaced. A cheap part at a junk yard! Good luck!
