  • How could you even MOVE...with 8 balls?
  • Question continued....You have 8 balls. One of the balls is slightly heavier than the others, but the difference in weight is not enough that you can tell using your hands. You have a set of scales (the kind of scales that has two sides, and you can put things on each side). For example, if I use the scales like so (let's assume the heavy ball is Ball 8): 1) Ball 1 v Ball 2 2) Ball 3 v Ball 4 3) Ball 5 v Ball 6 4) Ball 7 v Ball 8 (Now we know which ball is the heaviest, after using the scales 4 times) Can you find out which is the heavy ball in less than 4 attempts? You should say how many times you need to use the scales, and how you will do it!
  • Your question is a statement and is therefore unanswerable.
  • weigh 2 on one side and 2 on the other, if they're the same you weight the other set of four the same way. When one side is heavier then weigh those two separately one will be heavier. . Or you could weigh four on each side then divide the heavier one between the scales and then once again to find your single heavier weight.
