Why do so many people call themselves "Christian" when there lifestyle clearly says otherwise?

many have been raised to believe their religion is christian. this is what they have been told all their lives. not so much that they are convinced of their beliefs, because of any personal investigation. it is more of a tradition than anthing else, not because they are convinced they truly have a religion that respects God's Word.

For many people it is a cultural label rather than an actual faith. Happens frequently in Islam too. +5

Why are so many christians judgemental about others? DO they not see the plank in their own eye?

Just because we are Christians does not mean we are perfect...we are a work in progress and we have accepted CHRIST and have admitted that HE died on the cross and shed HIS BLOOD for our sins and then rose from the grave and will return again one day. That is what is the difference between one who believes and one who doesn't. We profess...that we believe that. If we are not living as GOD who have us....it could be for many reasons....a new christian or a rebellious christian who doesn't want to do as the LORD asks in HIS WORD.

I think claiming to be christian must be the thing to say because it seems like every President in the last few elections have claimed to be christian. or maybe its a ploy by satan to discredit christianity.
