  • Southwest - i know, its weird and only happened once. the takeoff was WAY too rushed. we were at a really vertical angle.
  • air india----hostesses are old enough to remind ones grandmom
  • Merpati Indonesia in the late 70s. The seats looked as if they had been salvaged from other planes, there were only enough life jackets for about 1/3 of the passengers and the food came in cardboard boes (an improvement I hear from when it came in banana leaves.) As this 1950s aircraft creaked and groaned its way across sumatra, I took comfort in the fact that if we went down in the jungle, the life jackets wouldn't be of any use anyway....no one would ever find us....
  • United Airlines. Old, old 747 that blew tires on take-off. I knew it was bad because the stewards looked panicked! The pilot said "can't land in Sydney as there's too much debris on the runway, so we'll go to San Fran anyway and see if we can land there..." I was thinking of that "...see if we can land..." for 14 hours!
  • I loathe continental. Smelly, old planes with bad tv monitors. Crap food. Sour, unhappy cabin crew. Their hub at Newark is ugly and scaled so that you end up hiking for miles along featureless corridors trying to find your connection. Their duty-free is dreadful too.
  • I hope this question isn't an omen. I'm flying to England later today and I don't want any bad experiences or delays.
  • good question
