  • Laws vary world wide. In some places only the military may have them and all others are not allowed, punishable by death. In some places everyone may have guns, even small children. In other places there are vast numbers of rules, regulations, and restrictions, only one of which is having an 'adult' age. Check your local law books at your local library, or ask a local lawyer, if you want to learn the legal gun age where you are.
  • In the united States, 18 years old to purchase a rifle or shotgun, 21 years old for a handgun.
  • In most United States jurisdictions, you have to be 18 to buy a rifle or shotgun, and 21 to buy a handgun, although you can buy a handgun at 18 in a face to face transaction, and I'm *pretty* sure you can buy guns manufactured before 1898 at any age.
  • I became a gun owner at the age of 15. I traded for it with a friend of mine. :-)
