The Trinity was not thought of yet back then. The first century Christians still thought that the Father was the only true God. (John 17:3) This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 8:5-6) For even though there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” 6 there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and we through him. http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/3745635

The word Trinity is not found in the Bible for the same reason the word Bible or Rapture are not found in the scriptures. You have to aggregate to see what makes a Trinity possible. Just like ice, water and vapor.
