I don't know the answer but it is a very good question. The horrific thing is that there are those to whom Hitler was hero and still is...I'm sure our very own delightful KKK members would attest to that. Wiping out a people to "purify" a race. How deep was his ignorance which was shown on the world stage. We all carry the same blood, having come from the same source. There is no difference. We are all brothers and sisters. So eliminating a people to purify a race is ludicrous since there is only one race....you wipe out your own kind, you wipe out your own family. Ignorance thy name is Racism. :(

Man is born in sin. Sin breeds greed and contempt. It is in our nature to be this way. Look at the people who become megalomaniacs. David Koresh, Joseph Smith, Al Gore and Marshall Herff Applewhite, Jr. I think to some extent, Clinton and Kennedy fall in this catagory. There are so many people that are fooled by these men. They are charismatic and easily spin information. People follow them blindly and completely.

Because we want to hear what they are saying: it is what we really want.
-
Because people tend towards sheeplike groupthink because of fear of "others".

The difficulty is spotting them as megalomaniacs before they reach power. To many Germans in the early thirties, Hitler seemed quite reasonable. It is only by hindsight that we can be so sure that he was power mad.

Basically....Most people love a benevolent dictator. Bush,Cheyne,a dn their cabinet should be in prison, but are revered by the right. That's one of the things taht bugs me about Obama.
