your insurance car rates are based on credit score. Even if you can pay cash they still do a credit check and if it's low you pay a lot more in insurance. If you wanted to rent an apartment those are done on credit check. Even if you walked in and said I will pay you a year up front they still have to do a credit check in most places. There are others but I am drawing a blank right now.
