  • I'll go ahead and play devil's advocate here because the way I see it.. The company had a no use policy..I wouldn't risk my job to allow someone use of the bathroom. I can't blame the employee for following company policy. I understand the woman had to go, but I've worked in retail, and I've let people use the bathrooms before, and I've often regretted it. It's amazing the disgusting messes people will leave...and it's bad enough employees share one bathroom but with complete strangers too? I know "the customer is always right" but there is no saying that states the customer is always clean, or STD free or not some wacko that is gonna smear feces on the wall. MAybe yes, companies should be required by law to provide/build bathrooms for their customers that can be accessed from the sales floor. People often overlook that the reason the bathrooms are made off limits is because companies don't want customers roaming around in the stock room where there are people's personal things, company paperwork, stock, etc. Some sicko could hide in the backroom until closing and rob, rape or murder someone. I don't mean to rant but I read the comments on the page the article is on and it seemed everyone sympathized for the woman..but seriously, if she KNEW she had diarrhea why the hell would she go to the mall anyways? ...and to be honest, if I were standing in the middle of a store shitting on myself, I think the last thing I would try to do is scream and yell and draw attention to myself.
