Thanks for directing me to your question Suby. Look into the work of scientist Rupert Sheldrake. He's done work with animals that demonstrates a collective memory.
Personally, I subscribe to the theory that consciousness is a part of the universe and that collective memory is just a normal part of it.
Yes, Suby, I believe so. When we talk about Akashik Records we describe the same thing, or? I am not able to analyze my belief - well, believing is not knowing and I do not have to be smart.......
I believe so - every generastion tells the next something of when they were young; collectively we use this to build historic fact and some of the more elaborate ideas get dismissed as fairytales.
I was brought up in a small village in South Wales. We "knew" that there were Roman graves in one of the fields. When a developer bought the field to build houses, they were held up when they "discovered" Roman graves which had to be preserved / excavated. There was no official record anywhere of these graves, so how did we "know" about them unless it was by telling stories from generation to generation? I know about the developer's problem because many years later I was selling them a computer system, which purchase was being delayed by the discovery of the Roman graves.
The idea of a collective memory is interesting but I think dragons were a type (or types) of dinosaur that existed on earth. The fire-breathing part... well maybe that was some artistic license by the story-tellers and myth-makers but who knows.

You're reading Do you believe that humanity has a collective memory which holds facts and experiences from prehistoric times? Belief in all far flung cultures that there were fire breathing dragons on earth, for example?

I would very much like to believe that dragons did exist everywhere in the world, OldCW.
I gave you the link to this question of mine as you had expressed similar thoughts in the answer to Mensan's question.
You might care to look at my answer to that question too.
I will Google Rupert Sheldrake and see what the scientist has come up with.
Thank you very much.
