  • I don't know who President Kimball is but he is not a liaison between any one and God. Jesus is the only person who can bring our prayers to God. He is our high priest and we don't need anyone else to mediate for us. This Kimball person is mistaken.
  • There is no one between man and God. For any person to claim that they are the conduit between man and God interferes with man's relationship with God. For any man with or without the backing of his religion to claim otherwise is the work of man and not trustworthy and probably the devil too. And yes, I have never been comfortable with the Catholic ritual of confession to a priest, but I don't think that the Pope claims to stand between man and God. (I may be wrong on that???)
  • This looks to me to be the typical anti-Mormon technique of taking a statement out of context so that it seems to say something completely different than what was actually being stated. This is, of course assuming that President Kimball actually said this. So, before I comment further on this, I want the reference to where it is that President Kimball allegedly made this statement so that we can see it in its full context.
  • I agree with Glenn. If this is a true statement made by President Kimball, then a source must be provided.
  • It's completely contradictory. But what makes you think this man Kimball would follow Christ Jesus anyway?
  • Two different contexts. President Kimball was Prophet, and acted as God's mouthpiece, much like Moses, Elijah, or any of the Prophets of the Bible. Jesus is the Christ, our Redeemer and Savior. Since Jesus paid our debt, he mediates between God and us.
