When, and what, do you remember learning about a religion outside the one you were raised in?

I learned not to push your beliefs on others, it is disrespectful

I took a religion class in college that was actually quite enlightening. I learned that Buddhism and Hinduism have cyclical timelines of reincarnation. I learned that Jainism has a very high regard for life in all forms. I learned that Daoism and Confucianism are sort of opposites. And I learned that Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all believe in the same god and have the many of the same important figures and have a linear timeline.

In UK schools RE is compulsary to children, so you are taught a broad understanding of many religions. Including Christianity and what Christians believe. Although I remember failing badly on the test on Judaism.

Muslims believe Allah is capricious and can deny you heaven if he simply feels like it, regardless of what you've done in life.

that pagans and wiccans etc ... are peace loving , nature loving , healers and helpers .. and that they have nothing to do with any "devil". and that they are victims of murder , cover ups , hangings , burnings , smear campains , stolen holidays and rituals . etc... by the church and other faiths .
