  • Yes, there will be a slight difference because with HDMI, the signals are sent digitally to the TV instead of using the analog signals in component video, and therefore you should see less noise and distortion in the picture. However, whether you can really see it or not, or would notice is another question. If you had the two systems side-by-side, you might detect a difference. Or if you are a video expert, you can point out the flaws in the picture that are caused by analog signals.
  • HD component cables just provide 480p by converting 480i sound and picture. Hdmi requires a cable box which your cable company will send a clear 1080i picture on one cord. Dont recieve  sound and picture when you can recieve  sound and picture.
