I would, but it would be complicated(laws and goverment policies). I think cruel is not the right word, since we(human) did the same thing in ancient times(domesticate wolf into dog, wild cat into house cat, birds, cows, horses, etc). so why can't we do the same thing!,there's nothing wrong with domesticate animals, since we keep them as our pets,we lead them out of harmful way in nature, easier life,we even reproduce/breed them(so they keep exist),and many more.(except for rare and almost extinct animals that should be bred specifict way to keep nature balance). So,don't be afraid or feel guilty of having such exotic animals!(they're the same like other pets but just in different rules).

This a common topic of contention between my brother and I. He likes keeping parrots, but I believe that non-domesticated animals as well birds capable of flying should not spend their entire lives trapped in cages.

Most exotic animals are barred from being owned anyway. But if you're an exibitor, the Fed and state governments let you have them. THey have VERY specific laws concerning housing, food storage and husbandry which you must follow, and you also must agree to impromptu checks at any time. Because of that, housing them is very humane and downright cushy! +5
